Getting Started

What devices are supported?

AddItemTo requires iOS 17.0 or later. NFC functionality requires iPhone 7 or later.

Do I need an account?

No! The free version works completely offline with no account required. Your data stays on your device.

Is there a limit on assets?

The free version has no limits. You can track unlimited assets on your device.

NFC Tags

What NFC tags should I buy?

We recommend NTAG213, NTAG215, or NTAG216 tags. These are available on Amazon for $0.20-0.50 each. Look for "NFC tags compatible with iPhone".

How do I write to an NFC tag?

Create a location in the app, open the location details, and tap "Write to NFC Tag". Hold your iPhone near the tag to write the location ID.

Can I reuse NFC tags?

Yes! NFC tags can be overwritten. Just write a new location or asset to the same tag.

My iPhone won't read NFC tags

Ensure you have an iPhone 7 or later. Make sure NFC is enabled in Settings. Hold the phone within 1-2 inches of the tag for 2-3 seconds.

Data & Privacy

Where is my data stored?

All data is stored locally in an encrypted SQLite database on your device. Nothing is sent to our servers (unless you upgrade to a premium plan with cloud sync).

How do I backup my data?

Your data is included in your iPhone's iCloud backup. You can also export data to CSV (feature coming in future updates).

What happens if I delete the app?

All local data will be deleted. Make sure to backup your data before uninstalling.

Features

Can I scan barcodes?

Barcode scanning will be available in the Pro tier (coming soon). It allows you to scan product barcodes to auto-populate asset details.

Can I sync between devices?

Multi-device sync will be available with the Pro tier (coming soon). The free version works on a single device.

Can multiple people use the same inventory?

Team collaboration will be available with the Business tier (coming soon). This allows organizations to share inventory with role-based permissions.

Troubleshooting

The app is slow or crashing

Try restarting the app. If you have tens of thousands of assets, performance may be impacted. Consider upgrading to the cloud-synced version when available.

I lost my transaction history

Transaction history is permanently stored and cannot be deleted individually. If you restored from a backup, only data from that backup point will be available.

NFC isn't working after iOS update

Check Settings → Privacy → NFC to ensure AddItemTo has permission. Restart your device if issues persist.
